I still have my Frigidaire window unit installed in my studio but seems like the heat has been especially bad this year. I cut a small rectangular opening from the plywood board where the window unit is installed so they both vent from the same window. The accessories that came with the unit had everything I needed to get this running correctly. As a work from home designer, I try to make my studio as comfortable as possible and not having central air was never an issue. This portable unit has been very effective. Gotta say, this item is awesome. Freezes any room in a matter of minutes. It is heavy though, which is because of the BTU rating, but worth it. This has been a truly terrible summer in New York City. Most of July was boiling hot and near-tropical humid. My ancient window air conditioner had been confiscated by my landlord, at the request of the NYC fire department, during the winter, because the bedroom window where it was located was on a fire escape. I didn't think much about it at the time because, after all, it was WINTER.
